We are excited to announce a coalition of coalitions to collaborate on global Open RAN issues. As nations begin to deploy next generation networks, our goal is to make certain that a healthy, robust ecosystem exists to ensure competition and consumer quality. Our organizations are united by the need for responsible policy action in support of Open RAN, and we look forward to working together on this important objective.
Participating Coalitions include the following:
- BSA | The Software Alliance
- CableLabs
- GSMA
- Open RAN Policy Coalition
- Telecom Infra Project (TIP)
Quote from BSA:
“BSA looks forward to collaborating with the Open RAN Policy Coalition to help networks harness the benefits of Open RAN technologies. Software and cloud services will play a central role in new network architectures, generating greater flexibility and agility while providing significant security advantages. The Open RAN Policy Coalition will advocate for policies that encourage the adoption of beneficial Open RAN innovations such as those in the software space- not only in existing networks, but also in the development of 5G.”
–Aaron Cooper, Vice President, Global Policy, BSA | The Software Alliance
Quote from CableLabs:
“CableLabs recognizes the importance of sound policy and welcomes the opportunity to work closely with ORPC and all of the coalition members to drive outcomes that accelerate Open RAN adoption. We have developed an open and interoperable communications infrastructure, and we are actively engaged in the development and deployment of open and virtualized RANin mobile networks – 5G and beyond – to accelerate more fully converged fixed-mobile networks.”
–Mariam Sorond, Chief Research and Development Officer, CableLabs
Quote from Open RAN Policy Coalition:
“The Open RAN Policy Coalition welcomes the opportunity to work with other coalition members to spur the adoption of Open RAN technology. We believe Open RAN has the potential to create innovation, encourage competition, and expand the wireless technology supply chain. By leveraging our collective expertise, our organizations can promote responsible policy in support of open and interoperable network solutions.”
–Diane Rinaldo, Executive Director, Open RAN Policy Coalition
Quote from TIP:
“As TIP members develop and deploy OpenRAN and open and interoperable solutions across the network, we are pleased to work with ORPC and coalition members to ensure strong foundations for a robust and diverse telecom ecosystem that can deliver the high quality connectivity the world needs.”
–Attilio Zani, Executive Director, Telecom Infra Project
