The Quad Open RAN Showcase

On March 7/8, the Open RAN Policy Coalition partnered with Assocham, Keidanren and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to present a Quad Open RAN Showcase. This is the first public event to be hosted under the Track 1.5 dialogue on Open RAN announced at the September 2021 Quad Leaders Summit, where the governments of Australia, India, Japan and the U.S. emphasized the importance of secure and trusted network infrastructure, and the need for greater vendor diversity across the telecoms ecosystem.

As part of the Showcase, we were honored to feature keynote remarks by Mitsuhiro Hishida, Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of the Government of Japan, and Stephen Anderson, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Communications and Information Policy at the U.S. Department of State.

Following the government speakers, the Showcase featured presentations from thirteen vendors offering open and interoperable solutions. These presentations highlighted the breadth of Open RAN vendors and solutions that are emerging from Quad countries and other like-minded countries in the Indo-Pacific region, as Open RAN has moved from concept to deployment in more than 40 countries around the world.
