Statement on NTIA’s Second Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund

Today the U.S. Department of Commerce and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) released the second Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund. Below is a statement from Open RAN Policy Coalition Executive Director Diane Rinaldo:

“The second Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund from NTIA marks another important milestone in promoting the deployment of open and interoperable networks. The $1.5 billion allocated to the Fund presents a tremendous opportunity to maintain momentum in driving innovation by ensuring that these funds are fully and promptly utilized.

Advancing innovation in the radio is critical to developing and deploying Open RAN networks.  The Open RAN Policy Coalition congratulates NTIA for taking a pivotal step to distribute a significant portion of the Fund to spur this critical portion of the ecosystem.”
